School Horses

The school horse program pairs the rider with one of our lesson horses or ponies depending on the riders level of experience. Lessons are all private 45 minutes of mounted coaching time, as well as time at the beginning and end to learn about horse care and stable management.

All of the horse tack and equipment is provided, however the rider is responsible for bringing a helmet as well as appropriate footwear (boot with a heel, rain boots are sufficient for beginner riders).

Lessons are $50 per session

Owned Horses

Lessons are also available for riders who are already horse owners. The program at Green Mountain Equestrian has the goal of creating safe and harmonious relationships between horse and rider for both pleasure riders as well as those with competitive goals.

Lessons are available for GMEC residents at $40 per 1 hour sessions (45 minutes of mounted coaching time).

Lessons for non-resident horses are $60 per session. This price includes either a haul in fee or is to cover travel cost to your facility.

Green Mountain Equestrian Center is family run business geared towards providing an excellent quality of care for our equine partners, along with a safe and supportive environment for the our equine enthusiasts.

The equestrian center was founded by father, daughter team Patrick and Rebeka Kennedy in 2015. It has been a major work in progress with many facility improvements being made every year as the business continues to grow and thrive within the Okanagan equine community.

Patrick was paramount to the vision of the facility and dedicated countless hours to facility maintenance and care of the horses. He is a much loved and missed member of the Green Mountain Equestrian team.

Rebeka is responsible for the training and lesson programs as well as General Manager.

The newest member of the team is our Stable Manager, Lindsey Matthews. She brings to us years of administration experience, keeping us all organized, as well as managing our board clients, and caring for the horses and facilities.

We are grateful to our team of volunteers who make the dream possible - teamwork makes the dream work!
